Frances Claudia Aquino of Stony Point, NY is a Certified Family Life Coach for individuals, couples and families.

What Is Life Coaching?

It is motivational creation through purposeful dialogue. Within the dialogue preparation, development and actualization of goals will occur. The overall goal in life coaching is to increase personal satisfaction and happiness with oneself.

Through conversation, clients are helped to understand the current situation and to then find strategies, motivations and focus to design and move towards new, better situations.

Different life coaches work in different ways, but pure life coaching is not mystical, it's down-to-earth. It's primarily cognitive - in that it's main tool is the cleint's own thinking mind. But it is also informed by the un-conscious and emotional components of the human psyche.

Life coaching differs from counselling in that it is primarily focused on the present and the future. It may be necessary to look back to find the route causes of some unhelpful thinking patterns, and then untie some knots, but then we come back to the "where are we now?" and the "where do we want to go?"

In addition to being a certified Life Coach, Frances Claudia Aquino is a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work, a prestigious national credential for advanced clinical social workers. Issued by the American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work (ABE), the BCD is annually renewable based on high levels of professional achievement and maintenance of state licensure in good standing.

Ms. Aquino, L.C.S.W., B.C.D., has been a member of the Rockland Coalition for Mental Health since its inception ten years ago. She also served as an Executive Board Member and Program Planner for many Elementary and High School Programs. She was the co-chairperson for Mental Health and the Arts Forum, a community-based program.

Ms. Aquino maintains a private clinical practice with special focus on children and families of all ages. She received her graduate education at NYU and has provided mental healthcare services to individuals, couples and families for thirty years.

"Clinical social workers provide more mental services than any other profession in America, with 200,000 practitioners and millions of people receiving help for their problems."
